DataTrek Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective 14 June 2026 · Governing law: New South Wales, Australia
1. What we collect
We collect information needed to operate DataTrek, provide trials and subscriptions, support customers and meet legal obligations. This may include name, business email, phone number, company, role, country, billing details, subscription details, support requests, account identifiers, usage logs and audit records.
When you connect systems to the platform, we may process Customer Data and metadata such as data source names, schemas, tables, columns, lineage, classifications, policies, evidence packs, model records, governance workflows and audit events.
2. How we collect information
We collect information when you visit the website, submit a form, start a trial, buy a subscription, contact us, use the platform, connect data systems, or interact with our support, sales or billing processes.
3. Why we use information
We use information to provide and improve the platform, create and manage accounts, process subscriptions, issue invoices, support customers, monitor platform security, comply with law, send service communications, respond to enquiries and maintain audit-ready records.
We do not use Customer Data to train DataTrek machine-learning models without prior written consent.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. DataTrek does not store full card numbers. Stripe may collect and process payment details, billing details, tax information, fraud signals and transaction records according to its own terms and privacy policy.
5. Hosting and sub-processors
DataTrek is designed for Australian data residency. Customer Data is hosted and processed in Australia, including AWS ap-southeast-2, Sydney, unless you consent in writing to a cross-border transfer. We may use service providers such as Amazon Web Services for hosting, Stripe for payments, and selected operational providers for email, support, analytics, security and e-signature workflows.
6. Disclosure
We may disclose information to service providers, professional advisers, regulators or authorities where required by law, or in connection with a business sale, merger, financing or reorganisation. We require service providers to protect information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
7. Security
We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, logging and least-privilege administration. No system is completely secure, so customers should also use strong access controls and connect only data they are authorised to process.
8. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the platform, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and maintain business records. When a trial or subscription ends, Customer Data is returned or securely deleted according to the applicable agreement, except where retention is required by law.
9. Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies, logs and analytics technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand usage, improve performance and protect against misuse. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
10. Access, correction and deletion
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to legal and contractual limits. Send requests to legal@datatrek.app.
11. Overseas disclosure
We aim to host and process Customer Data in Australia unless otherwise agreed. Some operational providers may process account, billing, support or analytics information outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to protect the information.
12. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact us at legal@datatrek.app. We will assess and respond within a reasonable period. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you are not satisfied with our response.
